Beautiful! Loved the recording of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" so much I just purchased the Danish National Symphony Orchestra Western Soundtracks album.
Morricone did indeed give the West a sound and was innovative in his use of vocalise. Along with the Spaghetti Westerns, his score to “Once Upon a Time in the West” (Henry Fonda as the bad guy!) has to be one of the all-time greatest soundtracks. I had the privilege of seeing Morricone conduct his own music with the Orchestra of Rome in Sao Paulo back in 2007 - amazing!
