But Bloch's understanding of the cause of war being "modern war would primarily be driven by economic forces" which is the status quo's favorite explanation, is wrong, fatally, as in causing more dead, wrong. I think the evidence is overwhelming if you read Lloyd deMause and Psychohistory. The title of his last book puts it succinctly: "The Origins of War in Child Abuse".
