In addition to the question of whether the National Socialists were real socialists: were they on the Right or Left? Dinesh D’Souza makes the argument that both Mussolini and Hitler were Left, because they married nationalism to socialism and were close cousins, yet bitter rivals, of the communists (international socialists). However, other authors such as Curtis Yarvin and Charles Haywood mock this by claiming close affiliation with the Ancien Régimes of Italy and Germany (judges and military). I suspect it is a complex mixture of both: Left economics combined with Right culture.

i THINK THE idea of the commons in england 100s of years ago was socialistic as the resources of the land for hunting and using wood etc were available at one time to all.... but the elites solved that socialism by enclosing the land and claiming private ownership of the common resources.... very humane and helped the elite class a lot
