Ex CIA Chief Brennan Was Told 'Russian Disinfo' Letter He Signed Would Serve as ‘Talking Point’ for Biden-Trump Debate
“Trying to give the campaign , particularly during the debate on Thursday, a talking point to push back on Trump on this issue,” Michael Morrell wrote to his old CIA boss.
I’ve been on Substack for a while now, and by far the most popular post I’ve ever had was the revelation that former CIA chief Michael Morell orchestrated the infamous ‘Russian disinfo’ public letter for purposes he admits were political in intent.
“…it was [to] help Vice President Biden,” Morrell told the House Judiciary Committee in recent testimony, adding that he started circulating the letter following a phone call with the Biden Campaign.
For those who haven’t followed the story, the open letter dates back to October 2020, when some 50 former US intelligence officials claimed they believed Hunter Biden’s laptop had all the earmarks of a Russian disinformation operation. The allegation was false, yet it was used as justification for Big Tech to censor reporting on the laptop story, which held incriminating information about Hunter Biden and the Biden family.
The plot of the CIA’s effort to tip the election, which some journalists have compared to Watergate, recently thickened.
An email obtained by Just the News shows Morrell asking former CIA boss John Brennan to sign the letter with the specific intent to help Biden's campaign.
“Trying to give the campaign, particularly during the debate on Thursday, a talking point to push back on Trump on this issue,” the email reads.
"Ok, Michael, add my name to the list," Brennan responded to Morrell in the October 19, 2020 correspondence. "Good initiative. Thanks for asking me to sign on."
This is clear and irrefutable evidence that Brennan, like Morrell, was signing a letter designed to tip the election toward Joe Biden, and that former CIA chiefs were using the authority and prestige of the intelligence agency for political purposes.
As I’ve noted before, it’s no secret the CIA meddles in elections. They’ve been doing it for decades. But watching a cabal of “ex” spooks manipulate a US presidential election in broad daylight—and get caught red-handed—is a different story.
Where this ultimately ends up is unclear. Legacy media have shown zero interest in the story and have been blacking it out, perhaps because media are co-opted by US intelligence agencies or perhaps because the media look like foolish pawns for playing along with the CIA’s game.
Whatever the case, the New York Post offers a clue on where the story is going next:
The Post learned on Thursday that Brennan will sit with members of the House subcommittee on the weaponization of the federal government for a transcribed interview related to the letter on May 11. Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who also signed on to the letter, will appear for an interview before the panel on May 17, a source familiar with the plans told The Post.
This is as it should be. US intelligence agencies are clearly out of control and need to be brought to heel and held accountable for this dangerous, undemocratic, and perhaps criminal activity.
Will that happen? I have my doubts. Both Brennan and Clapper have been caught brazenly perjuring themselves before Congress in the past, and nothing happened. And Brennan was even caught improperly spying on a US Senate committee tasked with CIA oversight (see below).
Let’s hope the committee gets some answers—and keeps digging for more.
