Funny how a 30-year-old action movie spotted what policy papers still dodge:

when safety, health, and “expert consensus” override accountability, the nanny state doesn’t look tyrannical — it looks polite.

Until you realize you can’t swear, eat a burger, or opt out.

Folks I know are often surprised that I love Demolition Man! Yes, it's a funny action film. However, it's also a pro-liberty, thought-provoking film in many ways. Your analysis of Edgar Friendly's soliloquy (portrayed by Denis Leary) is spot-on.

One of my favorite movies, more so now than when it came out, although I loved the "every restaurant is Taco Bell" line.
