Jon, our current capitalism is corrupted by billionaire’s money that prevents democracy from working. Extreme wealth concentration and Citizens United stops single payer healthcare, fair tax on billionaires, closing loopholes, gun control, abortion rights, etc which are all extremely popular. Wealth concentration harms economic growth by suppressing demand and encouraging speculation. Your trickle-down system was tried and it led to the dysfunctional economy we have now. People are fed up. The rich have been practicing class warfare for 40 years.

Indeed, they are a simple (and sophisticated) negotiating tool -- a temporary device that can "level the playing field," so to speak. In actuality, they are the great equalizer, economically speaking, and as regards trade specifically. There is a priority evidence for this fact.

I'm not saying tariffs themselves are unconstitutional. I'm saying those particular tariffs were, and the Supreme Court agreed with me.
Tariffs lead to decoupling the world economy, which leads to inflation.
