Jon -

I’m a new subscriber, referred here by my friend, Drew Melton.

I was reacquainting myself with Tocqueville this week. And I was saddened to learn that in-spite of his publicity back in France that there is little evidence that any of his discoveries in America gained a foothold in his beloved France.

Quite the opposite. Paris became one of the largest centralized governments known at the time.

No little platoons for France.

Welcome, Roger. Thanks for following.

We'll be running an excellent piece on Tocqueville soon at the Daily Economy.

While I was no fan of it in any form the DSA used to be broadly social democratic. Wow , has that changed! Now it is apparently been taken over by Marxist Leninist- third worldest types.

Nothing says "we are united" like a completely gratuitous political attack in a "feel-good" pro-American article.
